Our company, founded in 2009, cumlinates from the deep preservation and restoration training and project experience of our team.
Preserve, LLC is involved in all phases of work on historic properties. Primary responsibilities include building pathology, historic research, historic tax credits, certificates of appropriateness (required by many U.S. cities for local landmarks and projects in historic districts), condition assessments, and repair treatments options. The goal is always to implement design and facility upgrades to work with the current building program without comprising the integrity of the historic fabric. Our work includes properties designated or not designated as historic landmarks - understanding that traditional building materials are key to executing long-term repair. Like materials attract – dissimilar materials repel.
Preserve Design, LLC is interconnected with the network of nation-wide preservation professionals, which is critical when pulling together project consultants and seeking out solutions to atypical building issues. The scope of projects we are involved in range from 50 to 250 years old and require approval by review boards such as the National Park Service, State Historic Preservation Officers, City Landmark Commissions, and various grant and administrative agencies.
