Milwaukee, WI - George Ferry and Alfred Claus Architects of Milwaukee designed the Elizabethan/Jacobean revival style residence when Prospect Avenue mansions were in their hayday. The 2-1/2 story brick edifice is a veritable time capsule of late nineteenth century design featuring tan iron spot brick laid in a Flemish bond, grand stair with extensive ornately carved balustrade and coffered ceiling, and rare finishes for the time such as aluminum leaf stencil.  Amazingly, the ornate freize once removed from the exterior end gable was located in the coal storage room of the nearby Pabst Mansion.

Preserve, LLC executed a full building Condition Assessment with Cost Estimates, a Character Defining Features Synopsis, Restoration Treatment Program, and Floor Plan Diagrams denoting original wall locations.  Selective demolition to determine missing character defining features was executed in the southwest Parlor, Library, south Foyer, and Grand Stair Hall.  Extensive time was spent developing scenarios to convert the mansion for modern use and add additional residential units to the bluff site.
